Hopefully they won't change the time of the start. For example, 2007 Fuji was very wet but it was perfectly drivable once SC came in. Morning race would mean waking up at ~3 am for three days (FP1, FP3, GP). And the worst case scenario is that despite re-scheduling the race is too wet (=non-inters conditions) for Charlie and we see no race. |

We will just have a boring race at normal time on race day without any rain. |

They should give all drivers night-sights, then they can see through the spray? |

Will Stevens will replace Chilton for FP1. Apparently the earliest time the race can start on Sunday is 11am, The FIA have until before qualifying to make the final decision in order to give teams & TV broadcasters enough notice to alter there schedules. Animated map showing the location of the typhoon: http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=146.32,30.92,1821 And info from the FIA weather provider: http://www.ubimet.com/partners/fia/ Quote: Friday: While Typhoon Phanfone is the main synoptic feature near southern Japan this weekend there are other things to consider before this has any impact. A cold front will move slowly southeastwards on Friday, the lack of speed being due to winds aligned parallel to the front. This will produce plenty of cloud and periods of showery rain; only clearing in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay on the warm side, reaching around 26 or 27 Celsius.
Saturday: A better day is in store with much clearer air behind the cold front, this giving plenty of sunshine and dry weather throughout the day. It will still be warm with a maximum of 26 degrees and a moderate, occasionally fresh, northwesterly wind. During the late afternoon cloud will begin to increase from the south. Sunday: Present indications are that Typhoon Phanfone will be centred to the southeast of Japan on Sunday but with bands of rain on the northern flank running well ahead of the centre. This would give overcast skies and persistent rain, occasionally heavy, across the Suzuka Circuit from the morning and lasting at least until the evening. It will also be much cooler with temperatures just getting above 20 Celsius. It could be a breezy day, depending on where exactly the centre of the storm is, but nothing particularly damaging until Monday when it is closest to land. |

Nico Hulkenberg must feel old. He is supposed to be "future star" but then other future star Max Verstappen (b. 1997) is a decade younger. I feel old too now. |
