Well Sky Sports were there for a feature piece, they should have plenty of eye witnesses.

"From where I was standing it looked like the helmet took the brunt of the impact," he said.

Sounds bad, fingers crossed.

it feels so much like that day when news reports popped up about Kubica. Hopefully a similar outcome (in terms of surviving this).

Quote:
BBC Cambridgeshire presenter Chris Mann, who witnessed the crash, said the car had completed a circuit when it "suddenly accelerated" into the back of the lorry.

"From where I was standing it looked like the helmet took the brunt of the impact," he said.
'Terrible moment'

"Strangely, the car suddenly accelerated into the lorry and the car went careering into the side of the loading board."

He added: "There was a terrible moment when everyone was just very shocked by the impact and the suddenness of what had happened."

I don't want to cast a bad omen, but everything about this feels awful. Waiting for the worst but hoping for better.

Must have been somewhat similar to the ADAC Formula Masters crash at Sachsenring a few weeks ago.

Very unfortunate situation.

Seen this on Atlas. 100% unconfirmed
If the reports are accurate she was being reversed into the tent area and the car has shot forward and hit the side of the truck.
We all know how fast an F1 car can accelerate, but I wonder how that happened... There will be a good outcome, I am sure!

obviously if it is true she shot under the lorry... well, I would imagine that would be the end of the open cockpit.

Nah it won't. 99.9% of the time drivers are protected from things like this at the side of circuits. Unfortunately this looks like being the terrible 0.01% again.

I couldn't really see a 1 in a million occurrence like this fast tracking closed cockpits tbh, if anything was going to it would have been the Surtees accident.
