Ellis you make good points, particularly about Ricciardo and Perez, but you honestly believe the Kimi fans have a point, that he had a better race than such people as Button, who dominated the race in a car which most believed didn't have any race pace, Alonso who dragged a mid-field car well into the points, ditto Maldonado, who nobody had even considered ever getting a point in 2012?
I still think Grosjean could've have yielded more to avoid contact. A better racing nous would've made him realise Maldonado was very late on the brakes, and an over-under was on.
Kimi did do quite well because he was forced off the road at Turn One and Lotus cocked up one of his stops. It was a good return, but I wouldn't have voted him as the best driver. Equally, how can you say Maldonado was better than Raikkonen when the former ruined Grosjean's race, fell off the track once and then stuffed it in the wall in the last lap. It's all about opinion, lo and behold we're on an opinion based forum...
I watched their clash again and I think Maldonado was far too aggressive; we had a yellow flag zone before (where Hulkenberg had passed the car) and Maldonado obviously didn't lift, hence he was so close to Grosjean. From Grosjean's onboard, it's difficult to see what more he could have done, it was just unlucky.
