Is Azerbaijan even part of Europe?

Azerbaijan will put in more dollars than a European country but the GP of Azerbaijan is probably hard to promote, so let's make it the European GP.

Just looked at the map and it's nowhere near Europe. A complete joke once again.

Looks like Bernie knows his days are numbered and works hard to get his pocket filled a bit more.

Bernie is just as worse/corrupt for money as the idiots of the FIFA and IOC.

Indeed looks like he is just doing it to filling his pockets. Since all those deals with pay-channels and going futher away from the core fans won't do the sport any good in the long term.

I'm guessing the event is being called the European GP because no-one will be able to spell Asjebaijani...

Probably the closest you'll see to Horner losing his rag
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44H10ZCCJp0

He has a point (as F1 teams don't have a direct influence in the calendar), but a lot of the time teams are partially responsible for other decisions. So if the sport worked on solving its problems, rather than creating new ones, there wouldn't be the negativity in the first place.

Christian has been making some very good and relevant points to the media recently. But he's as much responsible for how the sport is perceived as is the next team boss, the drivers and the media. It's good he's taken a stand in this press conference but I wish it extended further than that.

True, but it is Europe enough to be in the Eurovision Song Contest :yuk:

I understand Christian's answer, but I don't think any journalist is going to get an honest answer out of Bernie or Todt. Horner is still one of the faces of F1, and it would be good to hear the honest answer from any of the bosses or drivers.

I've heard that in 4 years they will rotate it as the European GP between those 2 tracks.

I also see his points, but when it is becoming increasingly easier to see the FIA and Bernies blatant hypocrisy, expect any good journalist to call that shit out. Especially journalists who are passionate about what they cover.

There was a meeting between Bernie & the teams Pre-qualifying today to discuss further ways to improve the show (That doesn't really even need improving).

And they discussed & are said to be keen on implementing success ballast

A long long time ago European-Asian border was a political, and now, after the Russian Empire moved this border far to the east, this border began to be perceived, as Geographical. The previous border was at my city 8)

Dutch commentator Olav Mol said on this subject that they were getting Flavio Briatore involved in these discussions. He was always very vocal about improving the show when he was in F1.
