Pirelli are in the lock down zone too. I wonder if the Dallara factory is? Might affect Indycar too

Pirelli's tyres are made in Turkey

All of Dallara's Indycar bits are made in their factory in Indianapolis, although there could definitely be a problem for all of the other series they build cars for.

Not sure I would describe F1 as undeferrable, but that's up to the Italians.

aren't they able to hire staff from other places rather than use the usual ones in quarantine?

the performance on the pits might not be the same but you can minimize damages

I think the bigger issue would be one of parts, should anything need replacing after Australia, unless enough bits are in transit to Bahrain already. I'm thinking Vietnam sounds a stretch at the moment though.

Vietnam has seen just about a doubling of cases over the past 3 days or so after nearly a month of nothing. All of the new cases appear to be imported via tourists, including several Italians and 7 Britons on the same flight.

From last weekend. I wonder how this is possible at the new Zandvoort? A car went dramaticaly over the fence. I cannot understand they have a race when they know that part is not ok yet, they are awaiting parts to arrive from the US I think.

Actually this is really a non-issue. Not every part of the track should have catchfencing around it, that's pretty common on any track F1 races at. This particular part of the track isn't a spectator zone, and won't become one either. Therefore there is no need for any catchfencing, there just will be some extra protection for the marshalls which they are waiting for parts for. All necessary FIA standard fencing has been installed, they are just waiting for the safer barriers from the US, and the tec-pro barriers from France. They should arrive in the coming weeks.

This particular crash was just a really unlucky situation whilst lapping traffic. The Porsche was hit by a slower BMW, and was launched over it's wheels which caused it to roll like it did. It's definitely not a usual spot to have a crash.

Edit: I'm unsure whether I'm allowed to share this but here is the FIA/FOM approved drawing for the 2020 version of this part of the track. As you can see there is no fencing drawn in in this particular place as there's no need for it

The whole of Italy has now been placed under the same measures.

People can still travel for work, emergencies or medical reasons, so I'd assume that the teams would still be able to travel, if they aren't showing signs of sickness and the countries would allow them in.

And they would still fuck up and lose the drivers and constructors by over 100 points.

No surprise, F1 acting as if they're immune to it all.

They'll probably still try to push it through and say "everything is under control".

True, but what about all the staff in the paddock? If a few staff members are possibly infected, it will spread pretty quickly over 3 days.
