Kobayashi up front is no good, less chance for crazy overtakes that way :(

Ha. He's Japanese so drifting is mandatory to them.

Only a Japanese driver is capable to handle a F1 car in such an extreme maneuver.

Time to see whether it's Nico Vettel or Nico Heidfeld tomorrow. This reminds me a bit of Toyota in Bahrain 2009 when they took a 1-2 in qualifying, and then promptly failed in the race.

Or even Nico Hulkenburg, great qualifying but immediately nowhere in the race...

Crazy grid. Whatever the old pecking order was, it's well and truly dead. Q2 was amazing. Mercedes, Ferrari, Mclaren, RBR, Sauber and Lotus all within 3 tenths of each other? With Vettel/Massa only a further 3 tenths off that.

Should be a damn good season if this can continue. Especially if the likes of Ferrari, Sauber, Williams can make some gains at the Mugello test which I think is before Barcelona?

Perfect grid. You expect Mercedes to struggle in the race (although maybe not so much here). The Sauber and Lotus might be faster cars, and then you have the faster Mclarens behind them. Can't count out Red Bull or Alonso either. It's like a BTCC 'Race Three' grid. :)

Mercedes will do a Toyota in Bahrain 2009. Front-row lockout -> fail.

Lots of rain tonight around the circuit, should dry up for tomorrow though.

So, Nico doesn't fuck up for once. Good job.

Schumacher did. And again, as in Sepang, in last sector. He got away with it there because he managed to be 0,15s faster than Nico on S2 and matched Nico on S3, despite missing the apex of the last 2 corners by a big margin, because he was using less wings which compensated, on the back straight, for his mistakes

In this qualifying, Schumacher was 0,138s down on Nico untill S3, then he lost over 0,35s in S3 alone despite he having slight higher speed trap. Schumi screwed and flattered Nico

If you add the gaps, it not even reach the 0,57s we saw in Q3 which means Schumacher S3 in Q3 was even slower than the one he did in Q2.

Although, if Sauber are going to win a race, tomorrow looks like the best opportunity. The Mercedes will om nom nom its tyres again, it won't have the DRS available for half the lap, the Lotus isn't as fast, and it's all a question of whether the McLarens and the Red Bulls can catch up.

It doesn't matter about Mercedes DRS really, because they changed setup for more downforce(hence being the fastests on S2) and their speed trap was far from the Saubers. Without the DRS, the speed difference between both cars will be even greater due to Mercedes DRS slightly compromising the gear ratio for the race, and the race pace of the Sauber should be miles ahead of the Mercedes.

Anyway, got some bucks on Kamui to win this for 14/1

With such an unusual grid, at least for the Top-4, I think there's a good chance of a good race regardless the possibility of rain. At least considering the pace of the top-4 it's already something that worths watching.

I just hope they don't blow the whole race up in the first corners.

This looks like a grid in rfactor with poorly developed talent files. Why the hell is Vettel way down the order?! Too bad the Williams cars aren't higher up. I'm thinking at least one of them will be in a position to finish in the points today, if not both of them.
