Useless fact of the day: 2017 will be the first season since 1976 without someone on the grid that at one point in their career was a teammate of Micheal Schumacher

https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comme ... st_season/

Patrese debuted in 1977 and Rosberg retired in 2016.

The newest rumour on Manor's sale is that it is a group of Asian businessmen with ties to some GP2 drivers, which sounds very much like Gelael Sr., Jagonya Ayam! and the drivers being Tony G and Gelael Jr..

Which would be fine by me as Gio deserves it and it would keep Senor Oops out for good, so long as Kalternborn isn't stupid enough to hire him back.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

And links to KFC if I'm right.... Nothing wrong with the occassional KFC. Maybe after tobacco sponsorship we could now enter the age of fast-food sponsorship. Could also produce some taste (pun intended) liveries.

Palmer cops a lot of shit but was he really that bad? He only had 1 or 2 true derp moments and Guttierez was far more of a Maldonado. Palmer was more of a Chilton.

Gutierrez is way worse than Maldonado for various reasons. Never deserved a shot at F1 in the first place. It amazes me he has been in F1 as long as he has.

On the flipside, I kinda miss Maldonado... :whistling:

Palmer's stock fell off the scale after the stupid crashes in Monaco, Brazil and especially Abu Dhabi.

Gutierrez, he's just slow.

Massa in talks with Williams about a comeback to partner Stroll. Apparently Stroll's contract requires it and Martini need at least one driver over the age of 25.

Oh dear lord. Mercedes really wants to lure Bottas over. It's sad for Massa. Having gone through a goobye and then 'forced' to do it all over again. I don't think he is the man for that kind of job. But whho is? If you're mentally at a stage 'done', it's a big climb to get back again.

I hope it's just Williams covering their options. Why daft in someone who said goodbye and is worse (speed-wise) then the driver you're letting go. It must be a business decision, and simply hoping for the best.

Why not take Wehrlein and 'free?' merc engines? We've seen how much 'experience' helps at Mclaren. Jordan has done it succesfully in the past. Apart from the contract with Martini, that wouldn't be such a bad poster.

No, it would be a development decision. Stroll (and Wehrlein) don't have the experience to develop the car. Nor is Wehrlein over 25. Rumours are that Stroll's contract also stipulates that he is to have an experienced team-mate.

I always thought there were more drivers than race seats. What a frustrating situation for every young driver aspiring to make it to F1 if Massa actually gets the seat.

Rubens has already done the 'I have my helmet at the ready' joke with Mercedes, but has been SUSPICIOUSLY quiet regarding Williams...
