IIRC he did a similar role to what is proposed now in 2005 - 2007 and left because he could see how they were being dragged down and didn't have the power to do anything about it. Let's be honest, he can't do worse than Boullier...

A gentle reminder that they fired Jost Capito, for no other reason than the fact that he was originally hired by Ron, in order to bring in that Kim Jong-Un impersonator.

I hope Ron is wetting himself with laughter.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

If Sam Michael and Eric Boullier went to the bar to order two pints of lager for you they would come back with a Pina Colada and a Strawberry Daiquiri such is their ineptness. I will leave it up to TBK to decide who ordered which....

That’s not exactly true. They’d order drinks only for the bar to be burnt down as a result.

Sam Michael would then tell the press that while this wasn’t the result they expected it was the quickest order the bar has ever received.

Boullier would blame Heidfeld.

This won't make the car any faster though.

Fun fact - Every team that Sam Michael has worked for is either dead (Lotus, Jordan), dying (Williams), or a laughing stock (Williams, McLaren).

Yeah you stole that from me as I've mentioned it multiple times over the years :whistling:

I'm claiming that as great minds - I don't get to read as many posts as I'd like nowadays!

It’s subliminal. You’ve read it before but have no recollection. Yet you know the ‘fact’!

since the broadcasters were confusing the red super softs with orange hards

and since they don't use the blue rain tires (damn you FIA) the hards took that color

I get the impression Verstappen is going to try the same long stint trick again.

Wait wait wait.

Actual hard, medium and softs?

Not various indeterminable variations on 'soft' which have absolutely no impact on race pace or longevity and are therefore completely and utterly pointless?

COMMON SENSE?

OH GOD WHAT'S HAPPENING?!

Can't take softer compounds to Silverstone, they would last 5 laps.

I actually thought we would see the SUPERHARD

well, that would actually make it entertaining if they would have to chose a tyre that would only last a few laps, but that would be needed to get upfront the grid.

The tyre softness thing is a complete mess.

Tyre compounds should be 1-2 seconds per lap different in speed and last anywhere from a quarter to three quarters of the race distance.

Not have 0.1 seconds per lap differences with all tyres being nursable to the end.

I know it's not quite like that now but it isn't too far off at some places.

unless Pirelli was bringing harder tires to the track and labelling it as soft tires just to mess around, which I believe they were
