as you guys can see, looks like they moved DRS sector even further down the straightway, meaning they don't want it to work

DRS isn't actually needed in a freaking 2 mile long straight or however long it is.
They still managed to overtake here in 2004, one of the worst seasons by miles

Oh yes, the 2004 race. Where the top 3 were separated by next to nothing, ran line of stern for the majority of the race and the only change of position between those three happened in the pit stops. Good example there

Damp and misty weather for FP1. Probably too dry for wet tyre testing, but too wet for dries.
Either way, of course we see little running since teams want to preserve engine, gearbox etc.

"Undrivable" has become "unlandable". And it's not even raining. Even Fuji 2007 and Suzuka 2014 were run. So it's probably more smog than fog.
Sunday should have similar conditions, so it doesn't look very promising.

I lived 45 minutes from the track for 5 years...trust me, its smog, mixed with rain.

I was at the 2002 British GP and the morning warm up was delayed because the medical helicopter couldn't take off or land. That was 15 years ago, the rule isn't new. The cynical part of me thinks that the main events (quali and race) are dictated by TV revenue rather than the rules around safety of competitors and marshalls.

Now wait on Schumacher passed a few cars after he decided to pole vault a Minardi in the warm up and had to start near the back.

(That was about it though).

That was 2005.

I'm 2004, Schumi spun at t1 on his quali lap, started from the rear, had a puncture and a spin (separate incidents) and finished I don't know where.

Start of FP2 delayed for the same reasons we saw in FP1.

What the commentators aren't saying, perhaps because they don't know it, is that in China the airforce gets all priorities and shuts down all airports if a military plane is even nearby an airport. If you have ever flown in China you will know that practically EVERY single flight is delayed, and the air force flies and uses most of all the major air ports.

The helicopter is delayed because the air force is getting top priority from the earlier delays.
