funniest part of my monday is seeing one of those mail updates from Ferrari, today was "Carlos 5th in his home race" but they appropriately omitted his starting position |

I'd say it had the bare minimum amount of action to keep my attention which, sadly, makes it one of the better races this season Canada's always good right? RIGHT? |

now that the pain in Spain is gone, time to bring our beloved stats .40th victory for Max Verstappen .3rd Grand Chelem for Max Verstappen (10th overall tied with Nelson Piquet) .24th pole position start for Max Verstappen (equals Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet) .99th win for Red Bull Racing (8 in a row) .11th podium finish for Lewis Hamilton at Barcelona (including 5 straight wins) |

Grand Chelem is actually rather trivial statistics. Hamilton and especially Schumi could have had dozens of them in their dominating days, if they had always pitted last. But since teams don't care about Grand Chelems, they opted for an early strategy which allowed Bottas/Rubens take the lead momentarily, thus ruining the feat. Maybe if there was a 10 point bonus for Grand Chelem, a team would be motivated to get it and would alter their strategy by pitting after everyone else. |

Maybe if it wasn't called something as stupid as a "grand chelem" people would try and get it. |

Grand Slam should just be Leading all the sessions, FP1-Race None of this leading all the laps nonsense, as everyone is saying, if you have a race with pitstops in it, its unlikely the leader is gonna build enough of a gap to pit and come out with the lead. (and I wouldn't count Q1 or Q2 either) |

There's also unofficial "Mega Chelem", which is Grand Slam + topping all sessions. Obviously in FP sessions there's no incentive for drivers to be quickest, as it's usually reserved for testing and doing long runs. So in reality, all the mega chelems have happened by accident. Verstappen almost achieved a Mega Chelem in Barcelona, because Q1 was the only session which he didn't top. But if you don't regard Q1 as a separate session, then he did score a Mega Slam. Other examples for Mega Chelems (perfect weekend) are Nigel Mansell at Kyalami & Silverstone 1992, Michael Schumacher at Monaco 1994, Mika Häkkinen at Interlagos 1998 and Lewis Hamilton at Monza 2014. I haven't checked recent years, but at least Verstappen's previous Grand Slams in Austria 2021 and Imola 2022 weren't Mega Chelems. |

if you judge by that, I'm quite sure all the grand chelems from Jim Clark were mega chelems aswell, given he was so dominant at times |
