Me too

And then there was the time when I basically sat in from of Ceefax during a GP (which wasn't live on terrestrial or on a radio station) and waited for each lap updates to come. I remember waiting about 20 minutes for the results of the 1991 Canadian GP, expecing Mansell to win and then I saw him in 6th place!

Back in my day, I walked 3 kms to the local newspaper stand, the week after the GP, to read results on the sports page.

Seriously though, I gave it another try. Everything is fine now, I can find the page listing results for both practice sessions... without the lap times and in horrible grey on white font.

Believe it or not, I was seriously bummed out when the Beeb decided to ditch it completely.

Even worse. I still have an app on my phone to check the Dutch Ceefax (called Teletext here) for general news, sport news and remarkable news items.

can't believe they kept that horrible layout(the one seen on the beta site I posted before). It's so uglier and much harder to navigate on :yuk:

Fucking FOM twats, untill some hours ago(checked 2014 dry FP3 to guess pole time for this year), I could access the previous site's results section as in:
http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2007/784/6449/

Now it's offline and the new idiotic site only have race results of 2014(not even practice and qualifying with sector times, speed traps) :x :x :x :x

I'm really really pissed, now all the past data I used to consult, from time to time, is gone

Imbecile FOM people, hope this rubbish series dies so it can, maybe, reborn in a better way.

Stats F1 ftw

C4's sports pages were all cricket
ITV's sports pages were mostly football
BBC's sports pages had everything and was the only one (until late 90's) that included motorsport. I remember getting BTCC, Indycar and WRC information from there (that's where I learned about Greg Moore and Jason Watt).

Page 380 for Motorsport iirc on Ceefax.

Fun fact, it's original name was BBCFax, and the internal system at TV centre was known as BEEBFAX often being changed to BOOBFAX by bored engineers during the night.

It was 380 but it was also something else (either 360 or 480) as Beeb changed it at one stage.

Ceefax was a massive life saver especially with my deafness so I can access to information instantly and I can press 888 for the subtitles. I first discovered it in 1994 and my first live subtitling experience was the 1994 World Cup and I enjoyed it so much.
