HRT not within 107% of fastest practice time, 7 seconds off the pace. I know it's only practice but somehow I dont see them racing, not good for any potential buyers/sponsors. |

Friendly reminder that if Vettel wins and Alonso is beaten by Webber and the McLarens, Vettel is champion. |

And Schumi is overtaken by someone who was just a toddler when he took to the grid for the 1991 Belgian GP. |

Even the Mclaren are 1 sec off Vettel. On onboard main channel, they showed the "race simulations" of Webber, then Schumacher, then Vettel to the end. The RBRs are massively faster throught corners. Ok, Schumacher was on primes while both RBRs were on options but if fuel loads are similar, Mercedes seems like a HRT compared to Red Bull. For instance, Vettel and Webber were doing slight lifts through T16-18 and cornering at minimum of 210kmh while Schumacher was braking quite a lot there and cornering at min of 180kmh. Just to mention one corner as example. Red Bull, in this track, maybe will be so much faster than the others as it was in 2010 |

I just heard from the FP2 re-run on Viasat Motor with the swedish commentators that HRT are gluing their front wings back together. Short on cash and everything. |

And besides, times change. Helmets in the 80's and 90's were boring as fuck anyway. Lets compare Brendon Hartley 2012 Alain Prost 1993 Why looks prettier? Typo? Is it "who's" or "why does Prost's" you are trying to ask here? I'm a sucker for simplicity. Hartley's helmet is too noisy for my personal taste. I'm not saying Prost's helmet is the most amazing one ever- But given the choice between his and Hartley's, Prost is the winner. |

Jenson changed his helmet twice. Once to Brawn colours and then back but removed the Union Jack. Michael changed his (and ruined it) back in the 00s. Alonsos has changed fairly significantly and Raikkonens isn't even close to the original blue. |

Lets compare While some older helmets are more boring, I'm guessing purely due to technical limitations, I do see them as being much more distinctive, especially so when trying to spot certain drivers from TV cameras and whatnot. |

Compared to what he started out with, Alonso's helmet now looks like a mess. I miss the days when you could draw every F1 driver's helmet from memory. Even the guys like Takagi and Yoong had really distinctive helmets that you could spot a mile away. Now everything seems to be just a mass of polygons. |
