AFAIR, the front wings will be slighty narrower for 2014 onwards.
That change has now been scrapped, Aero regulations next year will remain as they are now.

this article is from December 5th, of last year.

About a week later, in 11th, they moved back to original plan with front wing:
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2012/12/11/f ... ules-2013/

It will be 1650mm, at least for now, as they change their mind about it as quickly as teenage girls do about anything

I remember this because that week in between was a big whining fest on the appropriate thread, at atlas. ;)

Anyway, 15cm in reduction is not much but better than keeping the 180cm :D

Hadn't seen that update so thanks for pointing it out.

The problem De La Rosa had earlier was a gearbox issue which caused a small fire, They say it isn't a big problem & he'll be back out later on.

I wouldn't particularly want to hit it on a road bike (although I have the utmost faith that my road bike could take that) so I can see why you'd want it patched up before twatting over it in a contemporary F1 car ... then again, I do think we should have less expansive/flat kerbs for people to twat over.

Thanks for the wing answer, I would certainly take the 15cm.

Also, thanks OS for the magnificent expression "to twat over sthg" (new to me) which I will make sure to use instead of "trip over" from now on

I've never heard/seen "twat" used as a verb.

It's usage differs slightly from tripping over something, in this case it's similar to 'clattering' ... it's generally running into/over something with a force that indicates the collision was either unintentional or unexpected. (It would likely find applications in many incidents involving Pastor Maldonado and/or Romain Grosjean - "he twatted straight into him".) I probably shouldn't be too picky about definitions of made up, or at best appropriated, verbs but, if you're going to make up language, at least do so with clear (ambiguous at best) guidelines on usage and form.

Twat would be considered a regular verb, for all of our non-native speakers who wish to categorise it in your vocabulary. It is believed to have entered the language via the West Country for the etymologists out there, who may be limited to me ... etymology in the loosest sense of the word given the dubious/made up tenure of said expression.

Twatted can also be used as a synonym for 'drunk' - as can most nouns in the English language according Michael McIntyre - in a usage which again takes its origins in the West Country, to my knowledge, which may be limited.

Here's a shot of the hole which caused the red flag after they had tried to fill it in:

I like twatted and I also like "big Fuck off" and "a shit load" as units of measurement.

Looks like they had a big Fuck off hole in the track today but they managed to fix it with a shitload of cement.

I particularly enjoy the measurement Fuck Ton, and it's International Standards Organisation recognised cousin, the Metric Fuck Ton ... which in theory should be a lower measurement than its Imperial counterpart, but usually seems to carry a higher value due to the additional word ... I don't think enough cement was used to qualify either a Metric or Imperial Fuck Ton ...

Incidentally, one from the dictionary (or at least my edition thereof), the word 'gash' has an antiquated meaning of 'unnecessary, surplus to requirement, spare' ... I always thought my sometime boss, long-term friend (also a sub-editor at Autosport, with one of the most creative swearing vocabularies I've ever encountered) was being vulgar when he sent emails entitled "miscellaneous gash" detailing minor, trivial tasks that if our clients weren't frequently and frustratingly mongs wouldn't need doing (repeatedly), but he was actually being clever and vulgar ... use this knowledge as you see fit.

From my recollection and brief experience, everyone at Autosport swears on a regular and creative basis.

I don't really know any of the others, at least not the more pre-eminent ones but as professional journalists whose vocabulary is a tool of the trade, one should expect the same to be true of their prowess with profanities ...
