It pretty much happened in GP2

Probably would have been stopped to ready Maldonado for the morgue. Yes, it caused a stoppage, but it feels a lot safer. I guess the one issue it possibly showed was it swinging around and clumping another driver on the head.

well, having attended the Monaco GP last Sunday and not being in front of a TV screen, I could only guess as to what the red flag meant. First I noticed a very long safety car period, then a short amount of racing, and then the red flag. My belief was that something bad had happened for that safety car to come out, and that it had taken a turn for the worse some moments later, so they decided to red flag it in the end.

One lesson I have for people who have never attended F1: you will always be better informed when watching on TV (even if you happen to sit in front of a large tv screen). So instead of buying an expensive € 400 ticket, invest it in a good TV ;)

I agree, didn't even know Kimi was actually leading the Aus GP until I found out on Twitter with about 15 laps to go

When I was in Singapore, I stopped trying to figure out what was actually going on, and just focused on the atmosphere, the sounds, the driving skills, and all that stuff. Things that you can't feel when watching on the TV. I had a blast. Then when I got home I watched the race and actually focused on the positions.

F1 costs a lot but it's worth it.

F1 does not need to cost a lot. 99AUD for an all-weekend ticket is not expencive at all.

Don't they have the Kangaroo TV stuff available track-side?

The contract with Kangaroo TV was not extended if I remember correctly. So no way to follow the race but through the big screens or some radio broadcast.

That is one great place to follow the race. How much for a ticket there? Or is this a camera crane?

Not sure how much they cost, but I noticed a lot of the hotels/restaurants offer their balconys as a viewing spot. Definitely one of the best views. There aren't many places where you can see the cars for a long time.

Elton John had a wife too.

Beards.

Elton didn't drive F1 though. He probably did wear cut-off denim shorts.

Yeah, F1 had it's own flamboyant guy with the initials EJ that got other people to do most of the hard work for him anyway ;)
