I love the new Marussia, although it does remind me of a early 2000's F3000 car.

I'd like to think the partnership with McLaren has influenced the design somewhat and helps them find more pace. However whatever progress they may have made through that partnership will no doubt be negated thanks to the talents of Chilton (and probably Razia). Shame.

There are some reasonable similarities between the Caterham and FI, which is funny considering their past history.

Something very rare is happening. I'm enjoying all of the car shapes and paint schemes this year.

Regarding carshape, specially sideways, that Marrussia resembles a little the 1996 Ligier car.

I'm loving the Marussia. Side-on and with slightly lower sidepods it would resemble the awesome shapes of the early 90s. The Caterham's hideous again.

Also, scrolling through the Motorsport.com gallery of the test so far, came across this here pic:

None other than Marc Hynes. It was hard to imagine he wouldn't find himself in F1 15 years ago but it never happened for the usual (talented) UK driver reason of having no cash. Being Chilton's driver coach must hurt a little.

Button stopped because of a fuel pump problem, a new Merc design because of issues last year... oops.

Not too worried about the tech failures, this test is just a shakedown really, , its like an elongated version of that part in fp1 when the teams just do installation laps checking their systems.
Better to have an issue now than later tbh.

I thought sky sports news were going to have a few updates from the test? Had it on in the background but as usual its all football stuff.
Wasn't expecting live coverage but 2 mins every couple of hours or so. *shrug*

P.s first crash of the year: Chilton has binned it.

Quite like the Marussia, simple car design. The livery on the Caterham is badass but, the car design is shit.

Mercedes have fooled me not once, not twice, but 3 times. why?
Simple their cars looked fast at the presentations. Specially the W03 looked like a winner to me, well it won a race but after that it fell down like a rock from a mountain. So this one wont fool me. Sure it looks again fast and everything - just like the previous cars to me. But this time i say its crap. Their most succesful i think its the W01 - it got some great podiums - in dry conditions

W03 wasn't that bad when even Schumucher could get a podium with it.

Yeh, W03 wasnt bad, but its performance fell like a rock from a mountain after Monaco gp. Because Mercedes stops developing the car. Im sure its not a money issue.

Yeah first half it had some huge potential. I think it is down to the team. The BAR/Honda/Mercedes team can produce some good cars, but they always fail to gain performance throughout the season, with 2004 and 2009 as best example. 2006 is the only season I can remember where they actually got a better car at the end of the season.

That's all well and good Phil, but Charles Pic drives for Caterham now whereas Max Chilton drives for Marussia... :p

Don't blame me, blame Mercedes. It was from their press release.

You can blame for missing it as I was doing three things simultaneously

I like your attitude phil, take no responsibility and put it all on Mercedes, just like Whitmarsh have just done today.

and no sarcasm

:p It is my fault, I was so concerned with getting rid of the background highlight that I missed Pic :p

So you also admit to plagiarizing other people's work Phil?
