I do like races with lengthy red flag periods, gives us much time to post retardedly on the forum and piss off anyone with any kind of common sense so it's just filtered down to HOF posting.

That said, I'm hoping if there is rain then it's only for qualifying so we end up with a mixed up grid, 2005 style.
Then you'd have fast unreliable cars behind slow but reliable ones and boom, instant tast race.

Actually I believe the grid will be mixed up even without rain...

I'd probably agree, although Silverstone 2003 and Nurburgring 2007 were really enjoyable. I couldn't believe it when Canada 2007 had a higher score on the forum than that race. Fairly processional race up front with a load of safety cars + one massive accident was seemingly better than crazy weather + turn 1 car park + Spyker leading + amazing late move around the outside for the lead, banging wheels. Crashes FTW!

Super Aguri passing McLaren and Ferrari on track, and would have gotten a podium(if not for that pesky woodchuck) > all.

I remember being frustrated with that reasoning as well. I was at that Nurburgring race and the crowd went wild when Winkelhock took the lead. At least I did. That was just utterly fantastic, a moment of pure racing passion.

I was 17 at the time, and I didn't touch alcohol until I was well over 18, so my reaction when I figured out that Winkelhock was leading was even more over the top than what you would think! I screamed at the top of my lungs "WINKELHOCK LEDER!" as he went by, which didn't make much sense to most people around me at all, since the only one around that knew Swedish was my dad.

The race is made extra special for British fans because Crofty was off watching his wife give birth to one of his many children and we got the option to listen to it on Radio 5 live with Murray Walker instead of the completely underwhelming Allen on ITV.

Somehow you knew the race was going to be special just because Murray was doing it, then it became legendary.

Alonso's move on Massa is pretty underrated though, a pass round the outside of a Mclaren on a Ferrari for the lead in the final laps.
Classic F1 :p

I had very similar experience! I was visiting my parents that weekend and they were doing barbeque outside during the race, going in and out from the kitchen door to get stuff they needed. Then I did pretty much the same and shouted "Winkelhock is leading!" and my father nearly dropped the plate there. From that moment on, he was nailed to the televison.

2002 was excellent. The biggest start mayhem of the decade, Trulli crashing out. First podium place for Kimi. Webber 5th, Salo 6th, Yoong 7th(!), de la Rosa 8th and everyone else retired.
2003 was great too. Bit wet track at start, Barrichello crashing, Montoya spinning out of lead, Coulthard winning after Ferrari dominating previous season.

What an odd selection. Two of those races were utterly shitty (2006 is hugely overrated), but 2010 was good.

The great Aussie GP's at Melbourne are 2010, 2009, 2003 and 1997. That's about it.

2002 was good for a few laps and then became a bore until Webber started fending off Salo. 1999 was good but not great. 2006 I watched live and rewatched and I still don't get the hype. It was a farce. 2013 was pretty decent but not a great.
