We all know Fernando is self absorbed. You can't go on Twitter and post stuff about how you'll make miracles happen and you're the moral victor without having your head so far up your own arse that you can lick your own tonsils.

Nice to see a Cevert tribute, even if the Red Bull (and Bell) stickers seem to have been pasted blindly ... the Bell sticker would be better pasted a fraction forwards so to be all on white, and the Red Bull sticker could at least be better done, lower the yellow in line with the blue curve, and shrink the lettering so it fits alongside the F. All the work of two minutes with a vector graphic. Kimi's was better ...

Alonso's helmet is indeed somewhat self-absorbed (although no more so than Schumacher turning up with gold ones every now and then) and Hamilton's is just hilarious ... why can't drivers just find a simple design and stick to it? Webber or Massa (for example) hardly have design classics, but at least they're consistent of design.

Singapore 2008, Alonso's finest victory, on quite visible location. Seems like he still feels it counts.

The wins are in chronological order.

There is a difference between being arrogant and being completely conceited. You don't see Vettel or even Hamilton (well, bar those two minor twitter acts of idiocy) behaving like Alonso does.

It's funny, I always see Alonso as a really good guy. I think he just misuses Twitter with those silly Samurai quotes.

I think they all have streaks of arrogance but it's perception/representation etc. I can't fully judge having never met the guys.

Hungary 2007 says otherwise.

And no, not the pitlane hold-up mess.

There's nothing deliberate in the placement of specific victories on the helmet. It's chronological.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Well, not a really good guy then :p

But a lot nicer than people like to think. Maybe I'm misguided. I try and see the good in all of them.

Not forgetting...

- Canada 2005 (complaints about Fisi during the race)
- Late 2005 (saying the team wasn't fully supporting his title effort, did the same in late 2006)
- Pre-season 2006 (going behind his manager's and Renault's back by signing for McLaren)
- USA 2007 (see Canada 2005, replace Fisi with Lewis)
- Singapore 2008 (Piquet)
- Germany 2010 ("Fernando is faster than you...")

Then there's the bitching against Ferrari throughout 2012 as well as the points ellis mentioned earlier. If this was 1991, he'd have received the same treatment given to Prost back then... by Renault in late 2005, McLaren mid-season 2007 and Ferrari during most parts of 2012.

I love Alonso the driver and competitor. But the guy is a tit.

Any Daft Punk fans here...don't really want to drag the discussion from the Music Discussion thread over to here, but I have a reason:

I thought he wasn't aware of the Singapore conspiracy until Piquet came out the following summer?

I don't think anyone truly believes that.

New Daft Punk album is disappointed IMO. Except 1-2 song.

I guess that belonged in the Music topic...

Yes :p I don't want that to clutter this topic.

There's this (from the vid, see rear wing):

And kals, your idea, even if it doesn't happen, is the best.

And it goes along with the black and gold livery.

That is pretty epic. Doubt that Helmet would be allowed by the FIA though.

Vettel's helmet features a girl in a black bikini on the back, except the bikini is painted in black-thermolack paint, and becomes transparent when the temperature changes.
