Paffett will be Force India's reserve driver for the weekend, as Bianchi is testing.

i really think that mercedes is going to be qiuck this weekend with that legal F-duct system
the keeped it as much as a secret as possible because they didnt used DRS(apparently drs activates the F-duct front wing) in testing a lot while other teams did
what are your guys opinions?

To my understanding it will only be a benefit when using DRS. So during qualifying they should have a big advantage. But in the race they will only have the advantage when they have to overtake an other car.

There's a good explanation for what the Mercedes FDFW does here:

i need an hint for something i cant understand: they always use the term "stall" talking about f-duct and so on. I ask, "arent they using the word stall wrongly?"
as far as i know a wing stalls when over a certain angle of attack the boundary layer blow, there's no more lift and it induces a great amount of drag.

in the f-duct system, as far as i can recall, they're reducing the real angle of attack blowing air in a certain way so it's like having a 0° incidence wing producing no lift and the consequence is a reduced drag.

am i right or there's something i'm still missing?

Here's a photo of the duct. I have no idea how this has been passed as legal!

Going to try and get up for FP2. FP1 is way too late/early.
