Playing at Hyde Park Picture House In Leeds.

Saw it last night, a brilliantly told story that could easily appeal to non F1 fans. I really enjoyed it.

Here follows an exchange between me and the good people at Motorsport magazine:

With your permission, I would like to scan and send Adam Cooper's
article on the Ayrton Senna documentary to my local cinema.

I live in Sandnes, Norway's 8th most populated city, who's cinema
regularly draws goers from Stavanger (4th largest) due to a higher
quality locale; and I would love to see them show this documentary. I
think Adam Cooper's article is a very good persuasive aid as a means
to the end, and will save me trying in vain to describe the film and
Senna with my own words. I've seen the documentary myself, and I
totally agree that it can be seen by anybody, and is a fantastic story
that needs to be told to the masses.

Hopefully yours,

Dear Mr Tipple,

I will more than happy to send you the complete magazine itself with the article. Please send me your full postal address and I will arrange for the issue to be sent to you from the office.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Saw it yesterday, simply amazing. It's a must to watch it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I saw it last night, a packed cinema in Taunton. Didn't add much more that I wasn't aware about Senna, but showed his human side and the behind the scenes Balestre stuff was hilarious, are all the FISA/FIA presidents a bit of a tool?

The ending was a bit bleak for me, they had the camcorder footage of Ratzenberger's crash, which I guess not many people have seen.

I agree though that it's good for non-F1 fans, there's some good sweary laughs in it too. My girlfriend (who doesn't really like motorsport) thought it was alright but a bit boring in places (there were a couple of parts that showed Senna's personality and were fascinating for F1 fans but dragged on a bit for non-fans).

But yeah, overall it was a good. My only real annoyance was the addition of sound effects to the racing scenes, such as crowd cheers at Monaco and extra crunch/crash effects, which bought home the seriousness of the crashes, but possibly overdid it a bit.

I also went to see it last night and really enjoyed it. The whole cinema was in stunned silence at the end. Brilliant movie.

Finally saw it at the weekend in our little independent cinema (Cineworld in Ipswich has ripped me off enough times!).

Can't really add much more than has already been said in this thread. Truly brilliant. There were a few things that were missed, but I guess most fans would have seen them (Monaco 92, Donington 93). Would have been interesting to see some of his F3 battles with Brundle as well, but then the film would have lasted hours if you included everything!

Senna releases in Canada on August 12 but in select cities only. Keeping my fingers out that it makes it to a theatre in Edmonton!

Special edition Blu-ray triple play release, prise is an insane £262.49 :8:

Without the model it's £17.93, but I don't know if the packaging is a digibook like in the special edition or just a normal amaray case.

Watched the director's cut just now.

Quite badly edited, but tremendously insightful, especially what Prost and John Bisignano said.

Just saw it today, truly a great doco and I don't think an Oscar nod is out of the question by any means. Would like to see the extended directors cut, will the DVD or Blu ray releases mentioned above include it?

Saw it tonight at Irvine.

Yeah, I definitely recommend this film to...pretty much anyone. Packed theater as well.

Blu-Ray is the directors cut IIRC.

I saw it the other day too, really enjoyed it, although I found it really hard to watch the ending again, I remember how sad I was back then, losing my childhood hero.
