That's not gonna happen because Charlie would have to investigate everyone on every lap for cutting the track and gaining an advantage. That would be 3674 investigations so the final result for the 2018 French GP would be official somewhere around 2019 and the FIA rulebook clearly says that the F1 season should end in the same calendar year. So obvious.

I live in France and I have no incentive whatsoever to pay enormous amounts of money for the ticket, then fly to the crowded, expensive, snob-ridden Mediterranean seaside area during the summer high-season (probably), just to sit 200m from the racetrack in front of an eyesore of a run-off area.

Wouldn't they use the use the layout from the last F1 race there in 1990? Turn right at Verriere. No chicane needed on the Mistral straight.

They should rename the run-off areas Corner Patrol Zones and bring in the House Robots.

I suppose they'll use the chicanes before signes, that corner would be pretty nuts if they ran the layout we used in elms & wec testing.

Shitty track though in all honesty and I say good luck to spectators seeking accommodation. There's a nice villa with a pool though...

F1 should race at Daytona, not at Paul Ricard.

Stoffel Vandoorne can use Mark Webber's famous words "not bad for #2 driver" next year!
Lance Stroll is #18.

Once again the drivers choose the lowest car numbers. How original :-( Bring back the old system then we can have '0' on the Mercedes!

That poll at the top of the thread deserves some attention. It seems the last option was the most correct one.

Thanks for noticing that. I spend some time to think what poll options would be extremely impossible to happen and therefore to be surprising. And to turn it in to a joke, I wanted none of them to actually happen and options are gradually less likely to happen. Or do you think there was greater than zero chance for people not complaining or 2016 not being a boring time to time?

From page 97.

Also funny if you look at the poll from before the season started:

Ferrari beats Mercedes: not going to happen
Williams will stay 3rd in standings: not going to happen
McLaren Honda gets podium: not going to happen
No wet races: not possible anymore
Maldonado and Palmer are incredibly reliable and scores in every race: not possible anymore
People will not complain how boring it is: not possible anymore
It isn't actually boring at all: not possible anymore

And that, kids, is how I make my jokes.
