Damn what a snooze fest that was! The most enjoyable part was probably Lindsey Vonn and the grid girls.
A very smooth, steady and Rosberg-esque race by Hamilton today.

Perhaps I'm being a hypocrite but as a Dutchmen I kind of hate that suddenly everybody loves F1 now. And this makes it even worse, frickin fanboys...

No you are not.
When Jos was in f1 nobody gave a shit even and he was the only dutchmen in f1 at the time.
Something to be proud of you would say.
Before Max was succesfull in F1 everybody talked the boy down now he has won a race everyone wants a piece of his succes and he cant do nothing wrong until he makes a terrible mistake.
The then so called fans will Let him fall like a brick.
I believe combined calvinisme oportunism is the word for it.

Buy hey
It happens everywhere.

How on earth can Verstappen be man of the race?

He had a bad start, made a rather big mistake with his 2nd pitstop. And ok had some good overtakings, but couldn't match the pace of his teammate.

Alonso deserved it so much more.

By that you mean he gets booed by 50% of the crowd at every race and wastes one of the best seats in his sport?

Call it "Verstappen appreciation of the day" and we're good. Or if they want to have it as a driver of the day, they should have the fan vote and maybe team vote combined, or someone with a veto.

Let's all vote for Palmer next race.

I wonder, if the race had been officiated, for example, by Indycar, how many Safety Cars, Red Flags etc would have happened with the various incidents we saw?

Lap 1 would have been a "Full course Yellow" for sure, along with Verstappen's stoppage. (I'm more having a dig at how liberal Indycar are with FCC's etc compared to F1 :-p )

NASCAR is far worse. Cautions for cars out of the groove not even touching the wall. For loose wheels on pitroad even when there's a wall between pitroad and the frontstrech grass.

I guess its not just America's election polls that are rigged.

Olav mol said during the race that someone from Fom had told him that 25% of the votes from driver of the day come from the Netherlands. When max retired he said, let's see if we can still vote him driver of the day. I guess they did

MAKE DRIVER OF THE DAY GREAT AGAIN!!!

TBH it reminds me of the groundswell of non-f1 fan support Lewis got in 2007. (You know that 10 mins when the media were supporting the underdog before he actually won something and they turned on him and tried to knock him down again)

But those of us who followed Lewis and Max since they debuted in Single Seaters can still claim that original hipster cool, like a music fan who shouts about the latest obscure underground band then is all "I liked them before they sold out" when they get famous

Enjoy it while it lasts, Max.
