The more players the better, but I can't just add those who entered too late without a penalty. I'm thinking about 20 penalty points for these three. Anyone against that?

I think they should be given race winner's points for this race and swap him with their selection. So if Hamilton wins would have row changed so that Bottas moves to Monaco pick for Stunky.

I'd say some penalty points are less complicated.

Penalty points will be the easiest by far.

For the non starters who have qualified, the position is obvious. As seen on the F1 website for official results:
Kvyat - 16
Magnussen (Alonso) - 17
Bottas - 18

As Stevens and Mehri did not drive at all, there is no way to decide who comes 19th and who 20th. Best idea at this moment is to just flip a coin.
I will postpone the decision until after the Malaysian GP, to see if they are actually planning to drive at all this year.

Magnussen (Alonso) seems to be the pick of the week in Australia and rightly so, the McLaren Honda didn't even start. He was picked 4 times.
Best pick to have IMO was Bottas, he will be expected to be at the front for most races but an injury gave him 18 points. He was only picked once, by Stunky who will have a penalty for entering too late (but before Quali so no cheating possible). But with this result the damage of his penalty is already as good as gone.

As said, real results to follow after the Malaysian GP.

The Malaysian GP was exciting to watch, but not exciting for this game. Those who were expected to retire, did, and those who were expected at the front, well, aso did.

Completely arbitrarily I have decided to give for the Australian GP the 20 points to Mehri, and 19 points to Stevens.

This gives the following results after round 2:

37 - Bleu
37 - kals
35 - pimmy
34 - asshat
34 - Tobias
34 - maclauren
27 - F1Peter
27 - Fish88
22 - LucasWheldon
22 - Mäth
22 - De Cesaris fan
20 - thedoctor46
20 - Vassago (pen)
17 - Omega
15 - dicksplaash
15 - Beezle
15 - Stunky (pen)
14 - StanV
12 - viXious
12 - WilliamsF1 (pen)
7 - acopip
6 - Soul Reaver
0 - Toto87 (pen)

Bleu and kals are leading, having both picked a McLaren and a Manor already. Let's hope for the others that the McLarens don't improve their pace or reliability in the following races.

Next stop is China, with traditionally very few retirements. Only 8 in total in the last 4 years, with half of that in 2013.

Wtf, so I should be happy if my pick crashes on his way to the grid? Weird, and unexpected reversal, though an interesting approach. My picks had another thing in mind though. So thats what I will be pulling for, if I fail, wont be sad now. :D

basically you want someone to do bad. A very noble motive.

I thought Omega made that rule (and big change from my competition) pretty clear from the outset.

How hard is it to read rules?

Agreed

Start of second paragraph (third line down in opening post of this thread):

Omega wrote:
Shamelessly I copy/paste some of the rules, because not much is changing. But where in the last two editions the person with the lowest score was the winner, I’d like to make one big change and turn that around. This year the person with the highest score will be the winner.

funny that this could make us watch the races expecting for more dnfs, of course from our picks :p

nothing in the world could be more funny to see the leader retiring in the final lap (unless you're rooting for him)

I did last year, wasnt thinking it would change as it was the perfect game for me. I'm still going for lowest score. But now if I fail on that I'll also be happy.
