Well, Red Bulls struggling don't surprise me at all, but Williams... 8O

Tbh this is just free practice and doesn't mean anything, I remember Renault scoring 1-2s in some mid-season free practices last year.

I just hope the real Mclaren pace is kova's and not Lewis. FP2 will be more revealing.

It'd be cool as hell if Williams stayed up there. I want both them and Brawn to succeed.

I like the fact that FOM now keep the Timing Tower on screen all the time so you can see the running order & improved lap times in real time, however with the graphics in 4:3 safezone's on the BBC feed it looks out of place somehow sort of floating around in the middle:

Would proberly look OK on the non 4:3 safezone feed.

You mean the point in time during the last season where Renault started cracking their problems and started getting continuous points positions. OK, they were running lighter than those around them ultimately, but you know, they weren't far off.

No, I think it was earlier than their form improvement. They went for a couple obvious glory runs on some Saturdays, probably to train qualifying.

Btw, they adjusted the picture during the middle of the session so I no longer have those annoying problems with the graphics. :D

From what I could gather:

- Kimi set his quickest lap on soft tyres, but went on to have a pretty long stint after it
- Rosberg set his quickest two laps on medium tyres, but each was in a short stint
- Barrichello's quickest lap came at the end of a 12-lap stint on medium tyres

Pity you don't get the Australian coverage.
So far we have had Mini Challenge Race 1, Australian GT Race 1, V8 Supercar Top 10 Shootout.

What's the current time in Germany?

Ouch. I'd have given up by now, or tried sleeping between the two.

During the break while encoding FP1 I was watching the qualifying from the 1995 Argentine Gp & felt really sorry for this poor cameraman

BBC coverage of FP2 has moved to 'STREAM-1'.

That would have ended in a Stanway China 07 like disaster.
