Unfortunately Motorsport Aus has decided that it isn't safe for S5000 to run at the Bathurst International in November so their late year season will be only comprised of Surfers Paradise and Clipsal races.

This weekend is the final round of the SpeedSeries for 2022 with the first running of the Bathurst International. TCR will be having their first headline event at Bathurst with three 130km races across the weekend, the GT championship will have a three hour race and Transam, Touring Car Masters, the second tier Porsches, Production Cars and Prototypes will be supporting. The broadcast will start before the GT qualifying on Saturday and before the first TCM race on Sunday.

The second Triple 888 Merc has flipped in the first GT qualifying session. Whincup's co-driver was driving. Not sure if there will be any footage as the broadcast hasn't started yet.

TCR race 2 abandoned, GT race about to start instead

Touring cars cancelled in favour of a GT race feels like a shitty exchange but that's mother nature for you :slaphead:

Especially when the GT race is 3 hours long and has only 12 cars, with three of those being spread across two lower classes.

Weird because TCR is sort of the main event and championship implications.

Wow Will Brown just went into the TCR championship lead by taking the race lead through overtaking with two wheels on the grass at the Chase. His main rival D'Alberto is currently 13th on track and needs to finish 12th to guarantee the title.

edit: D'Alberto just got into 12th because the other championship contender (Cox) has blown a tire.

Brown wins the race but D'Alberto wins the title by 2 points.

TV director was showing D'Alberto incar facecam and completely missed the lead change at the end, on the last lap. :slaphead:

The 2023 ARG season starts this weekend at Symmons Plains with TCR, S5000 and TA2. It looks like international streaming coverage has moved to Speedcafe, not sure how that will work.

Looks like it's Motorsport.TV for Europe (or just, everywhere but Australia?), so as frustrating as that is when series cancel their youtube streams for the motorsport media empire, at least we see it for free?
