Countdown clock on the official site! http://www.24h-rennen.de/

As always, one of the definite highlights of the year. SP9 (GT3) class look stellar!

A very good spotters guide:

Summary again of the measures after the accident:

Quote:
***Cars from the top classes will be slowed down by a 5 percent reduction in engine power.

***In order to prevent cars from getting airborne, the speed at critical locations Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz and Antoniusbuche will be reduced.

***This will be achieved by a speed limit of 200 km/h (250 km/h on the ‘Döttinger Höhe’ straight) a few hundred meters before these parts of the track.

***Speed limits are enforced by GPS with heavy fines in place for infringements. Once cars have passed the speed limit zone, acceleration will be allowed again.

***At Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz, Metzgesfeld and Pflanzgarten, access to certain spectator zones will be limited until reconstruction work has been completed to allow full access again.

http://sportscar365.com/gt/gt3-ban-lift ... announced/

Höhe zone has been since extended, the link below mentions marshall posts, so I guess these are actual zones instead of like speed traps.

The Sport 1 stream for the first qualification later today is geo blocked, I don't know whether they will also broadcast Q1 and 2 on YouTube as I don't see any events set up on their YouTube account just yet. Does anyone know a good and simple way to get around geo blocking or another stream?

I use Cyberghost. A tiny programm you have to install. The free version lets you wait some minutes before it actually connects but for me thats okay. Usually fast enough for flash streams.

I use the VPN that comes with my newsgroups access.
Never set it up before now and can't read German but I assume the lack of the big red writing complaining about incompatibility when I'm accessing the site through the VPN means the stream will work.

If you use Thundernews to access newsgroups, might be worth checking to see if you get the free VPN as part of your package.

Hola works just fine.

BTW, the EU is planning to ban geoblocking. Can't come soon enough.

For those looking for a stream. The following website is streaming all popular german tv channels, inclduing SPORT1, the channel that is broadcasting the Nürburgring24. It is not geoblocked!!

http://schoener-fernsehen.com/
look for SPORT1

Actually on many copyright and digital things they've always been very good and pro-consumer.

This geoblock plan is part of "digital single market" plan, it is just a general plan and there are little specifics.
