It'd be wrong to gift it, but it'd be wrong that he didn't win. It's lose lose. I'm not a fair person to ask but I'd give it to him then name an independent style trophy after him.

At least Thiim isn't celebrating too much.

A bit of a shame, but on the other hand you can't say Thiim didn't race for it. Nicki has had a tough year as it is, having taken Allan Simonsen's seat in WEC after Le Mans and now taking the points lead from Sean. Would Sean have been a worthy champ? Of course. But Nicki's gone out and raced hard under tremendous circumstances. Congrats to him.

Probably better that he takes the title with a win rather than something like two fifth places.
