That's basically what I commented while signing as well. Usually I'd be all for competition, but it's pretty damn clear that Edwards is the one and only deserving champion this year

It'd be wrong to gift it, but it'd be wrong that he didn't win. It's lose lose. I'm not a fair person to ask but I'd give it to him then name an independent style trophy after him.

A bit of a shame, but on the other hand you can't say Thiim didn't race for it. Nicki has had a tough year as it is, having taken Allan Simonsen's seat in WEC after Le Mans and now taking the points lead from Sean. Would Sean have been a worthy champ? Of course. But Nicki's gone out and raced hard under tremendous circumstances. Congrats to him.
