Me too. They've got something going on, but the motorsport landscape in Sweden is hardly big enough to have two big series competing against each other. These first few years will be about survival.

Yea, I agree. I'm somewhat hoping the STCC can outsurvive the TTA, because IMO Silhouette's are shitty not reel racin etc, I like seeing cars that resemble there road going counterparts which I think the STCC maintains...

Yeaa, I hope Solution F fails. It's a step towards turning it into DTM.

STCC is more of a business, TTA will be more of a sport. There's the difference.

That's also utter rubbish. The TTA teams were involved in the rules discussions and STCC chosen the packages that was best for all teams and would safeguard the series, yet the TTA group went down an alternative route for their own financial reasons. STCC is a great sporting series (apart from the VW debacle) but ultimately both series are now in place for purely business reasons.

Not really what I meant. The teams would chose STCC if they want to promote a product (like Eon has done with the biogas fuel). Teams would choice TTA for sporting reasons, like the non-factory teams Flash Engineering and Brovallen Motorsports. The irony in this is of course Volvo Polestar that co-started TTA.

Damn it, a massive crash happened to one rider during the Pro-Superbike race (a support race of the STCC) at Mantorp Park. :( He is not moving, and the replay is paintful to watch, full speed into the wall.

Race is red flagged after 3 laps.

EDIT: OMG I just noticed there was 2 separate accidents on the same lap and both riders seems injured.

40 min after the accident, they are still working on him. Yellow tarp is out, don't like that at all. :(

Swedish media is reporting NOTHING at all.

EDIT: Found this: http://www.expressen.se/sport/vardas-pa ... mc-krasch/

Which pretty much says nothing, but that he is in hospital.

Ok good to know especially if it's the rider who crashed hard because 2 riders have been transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Camaro Cup race is becoming a bit of a farce. The pole sitter jumped the start and got a drive through, but he is ignoring the black flags. 13 laps is also way too short.

Very stupid, but it's close to Stockholm, so it's justified. I didn't go, since I don't like to see race cars on go-kart circuits.

Johan Kristoffersson stands as champion. The controversy this time was that the VW's got rid of 30kg before the final races, for no obvious reason. That meant that Kristofersson could win the last two races comfortably. Main difference from last year is that no one really cares now. It's been a dark year for Swedish motorsport, with the split in the domestic series, Ekström struggling in DTM and Marcus Ericsson not showing much promise in a weak GP2 field, but with Kristoffersson, there's a light in the end of the tunnel. He also won the Scandinavian Carrera Cup title and is looking good in the Italian Superstars championship as well. Kid's got real talent. Altough STCC has been at its weakest this year, there are at least two topline racers with Rydell and now Kristoffersson.

Well they used to do that all the time... back in the 1920's.
