Two bids received for the assets; one being the A10 World Series that revived this thread in the first place, the other being the A1 World Cup mentioned above.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

So wait, that A10 shit was actually real? God, if their website was anything to go by, I seriously hope they don't get it.

Two bids? Can't they join forces then? I don't care how it happens, but I want A1GP back!

The website was updated recently. It does look better now but it still looks like a scammer is running it.

Well yeah, Auto GP are threatening to run a winter series, or so I read.

And the whole thing will come full circle.

Lola made some good cars. 9 years further and still racing. Cant say that about some other cars.

But this all smells like bullshit IMO.

Motorsports and music events? That sounds like ASCAR. (did that series ever survive?)

Nope, people who wanted the race didn't like the shitty 'acts' they'd have and those who'd want to see the shite 'acts' didn't want to put up with the racing. Didn't NASCAR sue them over the name or something?

It fell apart completely by 2008 and what was left was absorbed into the European Late Model Series.

ASCAR

No you Mean SCSA

No you mean Days of Thunder racing

If it was around now it'd probably be called Rush on Ovals.

I remember it mainly as the place Plato got exiled to when he got thrown out of vauxhall for nerfing Yvan out of a title Vauxhall blatantly wanted him to win :p

TBH I wish it was still around, it was something different.
It was another one of those series (like Champcar, Superleague Formula, A1GP) that brought something different to the racing world yet was badly promoted and mismanaged.

When half the competitors didn't want to run road courses and the other half balked at flying to Lauzitzring it became the Rockingham only championship, which limited it.
If they'd only consented to run Rockingham,, Lydenn Oval, Knockhill Oval, Lauzitzring and that oval in Holland, as well as maybe a few road courses (Brands Indy and Thruxton?) then you'd have a pretty cool championship tbh

*EDIT* Also I'm still waiting for that Euro NASCAR that races with the DTM to actually start racing ovals :p

I remember the Pick up trucks that supported them. It was almost like pack racing around Rockingham. 8)

Oh they're still around, they still turn up on Motors TV occasionally, always worth a watch.

They MIGHT be the only series that still races on the Rockingham oval, IIRC
