I got to mention that Vanthoor, the 17 year old Belgium rookie in his first ever season of racing gets 6th in an RC machine! Awesome job by him. But the man of the race has to be Kunimoto, drove a champions race to win it on debut. Overall i very much enjoyed the race.

wuhuuuw, Vanthoor was amazing :flag:
to get 6th place in an RC Motorsport car
plus he was the youngest driver ever in the F3 race of Macau

I don't know who Kunimoto is, so I knew he'd win for that reason. Toyota are mega around Macau

So another Macau winner that most likely won't be going to F1 then

Why this assumption? If you are japanese, you don't even need to be that good to be in F1. :whistling:

Found out what happened to Thompson, Farfus hit him and apparently the damage caused Farfus to crash the next lap :o

what an incredibly crap tv directing was that? Our commentator was mentioning that Farfus probably have hit Thompson, but it seemed they didn't caught it. They caught like nothing . The circuit is as big like our living room, yet they manage to miss all the actions and incidents.... :x

Yeaa, all we got was Thompson coming into view with damage already. How on earth could they miss two leaders crashing out?

It's got nothing to do with him being Japanese. He's a nobody

Until now anyway, he may well have just made a name for himself.

Maybe. But Macau is far from the great F3 race it was

Problem is they scraped the two race, aggregate time system. Same with the touring car race, that was always better for Macau.

Aggregate time races are the worst things ever. What's so good about it?

It's always been the tradition for Macau. It's what made Macau, Macau rather then just another touring car or F3 race.

Good F3 race, shame that the TV coverage is still stuck in the early nineties. Same crap graphics as then and terrible directing, why can't the Asians cover a race in decent fashion? The japanese GP coverage is also a drama each year.

Do Macau's get better in retrospect perhaps. For instance, the race printed earlier in the thread had Schumacher and Hakkinen and we link it to the great rivalry for a few years a decade later. However at the time, it was another promising German and Finn fighting for the lead. When Senna won the race in Macau he could have just been the next Serra and people didn't pay much attention. If the top 3 are dominating F1 in 2014, we might look back on this as a "great Macau".

Maybe, but Sato was the last winner (2001) to race in F1, and before that Firman (1996), Ralf Schumacher (1995), Coulthard (1991) and Michael Schumacher (1990)

Well i just caught the race. Pretty entertaining stuff. Incredibly stupid move to take Bird out at the start though. Do these young drivers think they can just weave and block people that are already alongside? It's worrying how many big accidents have recently taken place because of over aggressive stupid moves (that guy who went flying at Barcelona or somewhere recently as well).
