What a race, I actually believed Baguette could win it at one point. Why didn't they get him in for a splash and dash at the end of the final caution like Franchitti? Franchitti came 1 lap short at the end, but Baguette had better fuel milage all race than Franchitti so he could have made it.

Al Unser in 1987. He only run the Triple Crown + Nazareth & Tamiami Park back then.

Panther will give JR some gret opportunities to redeem himself in the next years, if they keep him.

Normally I would agree if Wheldon had just past him on the Final Lap.But to throw away THAT Win with a huge lead is just ridicoulus.

Even when he stayed behind Kimball all the way to the finish he had won it.There is no excuse for that.

The caution lights went from green to yellow after Wheldon had already passed.

Indy doesn't give you a second chance. You have to earn it.

I like that quote. Signature-worthy.

Thanks, mate. Most of the drivers don't ever get that second chance, no matter how much blood, sweat and tears they put on to it. Indy500 never let's you walk away easy. It's not a walk in park, look at Andretti's for example. Over 40 years of trying by half a dozen family members and yet no second victory. It's a hard race to win and always will be.

God that finish pissed me off. Who the hell slows down by more than 50mph on the inside of a turn in front of the leaders?

But worst of all is the fucking symbol. The rookie, crushed against the wall, limpering to come home, while the veteran champion proudly tramples his remains to get the prize.

What did the others have to do, brake and let him crawl over the finish?
