will the winner still get the f1 test drive for winning the championship? if not than i guess quite a few drivers will be pissed after already signing contracts..

Has it actually been confirmed anywhere else that Renault are pulling the plug? I jumped on that Tweet as well but I've not seen it anywhere else...

Looks like Renault are calling time on a lot of their motorsport involvement...

Well it's Carlos Ghosn in charge, isn't it? Something like that's inevitable when he's charge and things aren't going so well

Maybe instead of running away from the heritage and lineage of the Renault Sport brand, why not use it as a prototype? Just as they innovated with the turbo cars in the late 70's, they could use the entire World Series to be a showcase of green tech. Diesel, gas turbine, full electric, it doesn't matter. I think they could be missing out on a really good opportunity here, and they think it's because of their involvement in racing, instead of holding on to Nissan, and selling bland product for 10 years in it's biggest market.

So much potential wasted on the whims of paper pushers.

I hadn't looked at it that way, but that's actually a very good point

I don't think that's true as there will be Clio cup in 2011 and the aim of RST is to raise money with competition involvement and they are doing so.

It wouldn't be very smart to loose money by pluging of WSR.

I would more think a rebadging of FR3.5 series engine to make profit of World Series to the other brand of the Group like Samsung or Infiniti.

Renault Sport denied the information.

New generation of FR3.5 series car will be unveiled in HTTT.

Rumors suggest that Brendon Hartley has a full drive this year, not sure who it's with though.

Good on him, I was afraid he was going to be out this year. I bet he'll be better without the pressure from Red Bull.
