That wasn't weaving, well not when you compare it to what Nico was doing in Bahrain.

Indeed. Actually that GP3 crash was one kind of an accident there I always feared to happen.

Kinda glad it happened with these slower cars. Don't want to imagine what it would be like if it were to happen with an f1 car...

Don't think F1 drivers will continue to drive when missing a rear wing. Still I get your point.

Not as bad as Nico no, but he did make too many moves. He had a damaged car, he'd have known that.

True, but he did change his line although it was only marginal.

I don't think there's even a point debating about weaving or blocking here. Holding up a line of cars when you're driving a damaged car is dumb enough.

Yeah I agree, similar to Schu v Senna the other week, or Webber at Valencia the other year. Daly couldn't decide which way to pass and then it was too late. The only thing I would say is that from the front on view it looks like the guy without a wing is kind of travelling diagonally across the track in the braking zone, rather than straight.

Why was Seranelli not black-and-oranged 2 laps before that crash anyway?

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Just because Buxton is whining on about weaving, doesn't mean to say there is weaving, going into the first hairpin Buxton said the guy was weaving when it's quiet obvious from Matzel's video the guy just holds a straight line in the middle of the road, that's called defensive driving, not weaving, same on the exit of the tunnel, if you call that weaving then I guess you're under 30 cos that's not weaving by any stretch of the imagination.

Carrying on after your rear wing has fallen off, well, not exactly the wisest move but not exactly illegal either.

Yeah but until they paint a white line down the middle of the road it's a major grey are over what is acceptable and what isn't. Ultimately Daly did that to himself, he didn't need to be so stupidly close to the rear of the other car.

I suppose because nothing was hanging off his car that could fall off and hit another driver. It was just something that slowed his car down. And he was doing his best to keep his position with this damaged car. We wouldn't be calling a touring car driver an idiot if he kept going with his front splitter missing, would we?

Right, these guys - both GP2 and GP3 - need a fucking bollocking.

Driving standards have been poor this year. It's all very well being entertaining, but in Bahrain they were driving everywhere and it was ridiculous. Calado in particular seems to have no idea how to race, shoving people onto the grass etc. It's only a matter of time before something more serious happens. Edd Straw commented in Autosport that something will happen one day and it will seriously raise questions about the viability of Monaco. Defending is one thing, doing so aggressively is another. Moving around without a rear wing in the tunnel in Monaco? Utter, utter lunacy.

We've had several wheels fall off too in GP2 & GP3 through crashes. Not necessarily the fault of the drivers but they're so lucky. Whoever was following Daly was actually struck by his wheel.

F1 sets a bad precedent and these guys follow it. Except they're younger and less skilled.

Maybe we need an age limit, because Suranovich is only 16.

this is wholly inaccurate; they've been taught to drive aggressively through karting, where it's almost impossible to get anywhere without contact and forceful driving

it's a terrible lesson to learn and sets young drivers up to drive without any respect for their fellow competitors, but that's how it works now

I guess so yes. But F1 doesn't help sometimes. I think you've got a problem in GP2 and GP3 now that you're increasingly getting rich kids rather than talented drivers. No-one in GP2 stands out for me this year as a potential F1 champion, except for Felipe Nasr.
