Well I remember recently a BTCC driver being parked for first practice for doing a race on a resurfaced track a month before BTCC went there, but being suspended for two rounds is fucking ridiculous.

It's actually Stenshorne banned for Silverstone and Tsolov for Spa, which is where they had an "unfair advantage".

Oh got it, just thrown off by the way it was written.

Also noticed the four points on the licence, you don't even get that much for horrendously dangerous driving...

I also don't buy the "similarity between the GB3 car and the F3 car" line. The car they run in FIA F3 is significantly more powerful than a GB3 car and at somewhere like Silverstone the GB3 car is about 8 seconds a lap slower.

It's just the FIA trying to promote its own ladder series over anything or anyone else

I guess its harsh, but it's also a business protecting its own market.

The question is, if driving in GB3 gets you banned from the ladder you want to be on, what's the point of GB3 in the first place?

Let me answer that myself, there never has been a point of it, even when there was British F3, it was invented to dilute the market and get half the field that couldn't win in F3 to spend their money racing in a "rival" series and be compettitive there instead.

Looking forward to future race bans for unapproved participation in iRacing events at tracks on the calendar.

That's ridiculous. I always thought drivers since the days of Fangio were allowed to race wherever and whenever they want.

Well, there was this "only one race within 24 hours" rule though which prevented more USAC full-time entries at F1 Watkins Glen & Mosport ;)

Back to now, here is the FIA rule. It's more about driving F3-like car than actually running on a track being part of the F3 championship though that's not how the drivers view it.

Well it's clear they broke the rules as they're written.

But as they're written they're fucking stupid.

They're young drivers looking to make their way up in the world they shouldn't be restricted in what they can or can't drive. If they've got the money to drive in 11 series around the world in 9 different cars, let them. You're not going to develop the next Max Verstappen by hindering their driving ambitions.

Not in F3, they usually only show a handful.

Lame. It's 2024. With FOM's trillion dollar zettabyte state-of-art connections they should have live 32K onboard feed from 10000 cameras simultaneously without issues. :whistling:
